24-Hour Nursing Care - Care is provided 24 hours a day and is overseen by a registered nurse. Routine nursing care includes: implementation of the physician's orders, administration of medications, and assistance with bathing, toileting, dressing, and mobilization.
| Skilled Nursing Care - The Alverno is a licensed skilled nursing facility. Skilled nursing services are those that require a higher degree of knowledge and coordination. Services such as intravenous therapy, feeding tubes, wound care management and tracheostomy care are examples of skilled nursing services. |

Dementia/Low Stimulus Unit - For those requiring additional care due to dementia or Alzheimer's, The Alverno offers a low stimulus unit. Specific programming has been developed to assist residents in this unit to communicate their wishes and needs to our highly trained staff. Additional safety precautions have been taken in the unit to ensure the safety of the residents.

Occupational Therapy/Restorative Nursing - Occupational Therapy and Restorative nursing assists residents in maintaining physical, emotional, psychological, and social skills. Examples include range of motion, transfers, exercise, ambulation, restorative dining, and orthotic/prosthetic management. |
Physical Therapy - The goal of our on-site physical therapy program is to help our residents return to the highest level of independence as possible. Our physical therapy team will work to increase mobility, decrease pain and increase strength.
Alternative Treatments - Treatments such as therapeutic massage, healing touch and Reiki are available to reduce everyday stress, tension and pain. Services are provided on-site by certified therapists.
| Dietary/Special Diets - To enhance the health and well-being of our residents, The Alverno has adopted a general diet which is recommended as much as possible. The diet is designed to be low in sodium, sugar and fat, and averages 1700 calories per day. Provisions are made for special diets. Texture modifications are individualized and used when needed. Special diets should be discussed with the resident's physician. All residents will receive a nutritional screening assessment by a certified dietary manager following admission. |

Pharmacy - The Alverno uses the Artromick unit dose medication system. This allows us to provide uniform medication monitoring and dispensing. Medication is not given without a physician's order.

Pastoral Care Program & Chapel - All faiths are represented at The Alverno. Services include daily mass or communion service, morning prayer, and Sunday worship. Individual pastoral care is also provided. |
Activities - The activities available at The Alverno are designed to meet a variety of needs and interests and are led by certified activity directors. Examples of activities available on a daily and/or weekly basis include: bingo, arts and crafts, exercise, coffee hours, cooking, gardening, and intergenerational activities.
In addition to regular daily activities, residents are encouraged to participate in annual events such as the annual horse show, hog roast, and holiday gatherings.

Beauty Shop - For those who wish to receive services from our beauty shop, appointments may be made on an individual basis. Manicures are available through the activities department. Housekeeping - The Alverno takes pride in the cleanliness of our facility and all resident rooms are cleaned daily. |

Laundry - Laundry service is provided by The Alverno.
Companion Radio - Four complimentary radio stations are available to residents at The Alverno. Stations include 88.5 FM - The Reminiscence Station, 90.0 FM - The Imagination Station, 92.1 FM - The Serenity Station, and 100.9 FM - The Potpourri Station.
