Making the decision to move yourself or a loved one to a long-term care facility is not something to be taken lightly. Many factors should be taken into consideration. It is best to take time to become well-educated regarding the types of care available to help in determining the level of care needed. In addition, it is best to make a personal visit to a few facilities of choice.

The Alverno strives to make the transition of moving to long-term care as easy as possible. After making contact with The Alverno, a social worker will be your point of contact - assisting you through all of the necessary steps toward admission.

At The Alverno, the comfort of our residents is our primary focus. 75% of the beds at our facility are in private rooms. While room selection is based on availability at admission, we will do our best to accommodate your preferences.

The first floor offers a low stimulus/dementia unit for advanced cognitively impaired residents. The second and third floors provide general nursing care. Residents may be moved to another floor according to their needs.

The Alverno Health Care Facility

Upon admission to The Alverno, an interdisciplinary team consisting of the resident and their family, physicians, nurses, therapists, and social workers develop a resident care plan. Care plans are reviewed quarterly and whenever the medical condition of a resident changes.

Residents are encouraged to bring personal items such as: tabletop television, VCR, radio, reclining or rocking chair, and pictures. TVs are not encouraged on the 1st floor because many programs increase confusion.
